I’m both an art director and storyteller, the gift for the latter, I solidly owe to my parents. My Dad is one of the most enthralling spinner of yarns I’ve ever met–though classically trained as a plumber and helicopter pilot. And my Mom has never met a stranger–God forbid she sits next to someone interesting on the bus. I learned the power of connecting emotionally with people from them, through the sharing of stories, and celebration of diverse perspectives. And it’s been foundational for the work I’ve created over the last 25 years.
Coincidentally - I got married 27 years ago. To my husband Tim, and to advertising. And I’ve felt an ever present mix of love, frustration, inspiration and curiosity towards them both the entire time. I’m Mom to a captivating 12 year old named Chloe, who constantly helps me see the world with fresh eyes. I also get to spend my time with a Cockapoo named Bean, who was supposed to be at least 12 pounds, but to Tim’s continued disappointment, has maxed out at 7.
I was born and grew up in the Panama Canal Zone, went to high school and college in Central Florida, and found the place I truly belong here in Maine. I’m honored to be co-leader to a troop of 12 Girl Scout Cadettes who’ve helped me fall in love with the outdoors, inspired me to become a mentor to the next generation of female leaders, and rekindled my love for friendship bracelet making.
I’m a hugger by nature, and an eternal optimist at heart. And if you’ve got a story to share, I’d love to hear it.
